Lights, camera, action! Step behind the scenes and in front of the camera in our exciting Film Production Class, where creativity comes to life through the art of filmmaking.
Students will work alongside the talented Stagelights staff to collaborate on writing an original screenplay, developing characters, planning scenes, and bringing their ideas to the screen. Throughout the semester, participants will gain hands-on experience in acting for the camera, storytelling, filming, and the movie-making process while learning what it takes to create a successful film from concept to final cut.
The semester will culminate in the world premiere of their original film on December 14th on the Stagelights Theater’s big screen, where family and friends can celebrate their hard work and creativity.

Musical Production Workshop (Show TBA)
Step into the spotlight and experience the excitement of bringing a full musical to life! This fun and engaging workshop-style production class gives students the opportunity to rehearse and perform an entire musical during the semester, culminating in a special performance on December 19 during regular class time in the beautiful Stagelights Theater.
Throughout the session, students will learn every aspect of putting on a musical—from acting, singing, and staging to character development and storytelling—all while working together as an ensemble. This class is the perfect way to build confidence, make new friends, and experience the joy of live theater in a supportive and creative environment.
To keep the focus on performance and imagination, students will wear all black and use simple costume accents to transform into their characters. Tuition includes the performance rights to the show, props, and scenery, so all you have to do is come ready to learn, create, and shine!
Whether you’re new to the stage or already love performing, this workshop is a fantastic opportunity to experience the magic of producing a musical from start to finish. We can’t wait to see you take the stage at Stagelights!

(Audition Required) Our Musical Theater & Acting Competition Team is designed for dedicated performers who are passionate about acting, singing, dancing and storytelling. This elite performance team provides students with the opportunity to train at a higher level while representing Stagelights Performing Arts Center at regional and national performing arts competitions.
Team members will develop strong acting techniques, character development, vocal performance, stage presence, audition skills, improvisation, scene work, and musical theater performance through weekly rehearsals and specialized coaching. Throughout the season, students will prepare a variety of competitive pieces including solo and group musical theater numbers, monologues, scenes, and ensemble performances.
Being a member of this team requires commitment, focus, and a positive attitude. Students are expected to attend rehearsals consistently, practice independently, arrive prepared, and support their teammates both on and off the stage. Competition is about striving for excellence, building confidence, and learning to perform under pressure while celebrating the success of the entire team.
Beyond the awards and trophies, students will gain invaluable performance experience, receive professional feedback from industry judges, build lasting friendships, and create unforgettable memories. The team encourages creativity, discipline, teamwork, and a love for the performing arts in an uplifting and supportive environment.
Prerequisite: Students must have previously performed in a musical production or participated in a musical theater camp.

Dancers will work on proper alignment, spotting, balance, core strength, elevation, flexibility, and overall technical execution while building confidence and consistency in their performance. This class is an excellent complement to ballet and jazz training and is designed to help dancers refine their skills and reach their full potential.
Jumps & Turns is a required class for all Stagelights Dance Team members and is highly recommended for any dancer looking to improve their technique, enhance performance quality, and prepare for competitions, auditions, and advanced dance opportunities.
Prerequisite: Open to dancers with 2+ years of prior dance training.

Throughout the fall semester, students will explore Shakespeare’s language, character development, stage movement, vocal projection, and storytelling techniques as they rehearse a Shakespeare play. Whether you’re new to Shakespeare or have previous acting experience, this class makes the Bard’s work fun, engaging, and accessible for performers of all levels.
The semester will culminate in a fully staged performance on December 14, 2026, in the beautiful Stagelights Theater, giving students the opportunity to showcase everything they’ve learned in front of a live audience.
